A MECHANIC has revealed the exact temperature you should set your air con to stay perfectly comfortable all year round.
Making use of a little-known button, you can be sure your blower is in "optimal condition" which can save you discomfort (and money) down the line.

The expert, known online as the Car Care Nut, took to his YouTube channel to share the simple hack with drivers.
He explained: "Most modern cars have Auto heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC).
"But most folks don't use it.
"It measures the cabin air quality and the temperature...it enters all this data to a very complicated equation to come up with where it needs to direct the air."

Auto HVAC can be activated simply by pushing a button on your dashboard.
This is usually marked with the word "auto" and often incorporates a small light to let you know when it's active.
As the name suggests, HVAC is designed to regulate both air quality and temperature inside your car in response to the conditions outside.
This means it can be used all year round, keeping you warm in the winter and cool in the summer.

The motors whizz also revealed that you can pre-set the system to a particular temperature.
He went on: "The majority of humans can set their auto AC can set their auto HVAC to 22C all year long and be comfortable.

"It's kind of a universal range.
"Most HVAC systems are designed to work at their optimal performance when set at this temperature.
"You should actually turn your AC on in the winter...the system changes it into a dehumidifier."
One thing this can do is de-mist your windscreen by removing moisture from the cabin.
Not only is a foggy screen irritating, but it could actually land you with a £100 fine and three points on your licence for driving with your view obstructed.
Plus, automatic regulation is more efficient than manually using your air con, burning less fuel to run and saving you money over the long term.
