All the celebs who’ve had butt lift surgery – and those who swear they haven’t claiming ‘it’s my real bum’

IN the nineties and noughties many women feared looking at their backsides and self-consciously asked pals whether their bums were too 'big'.
Fast-forward to now however, and the 'mega butt' has become all the rage, with celebs such as Kim Kardashian proudly flaunting their very round posteriors.
But while some spend gruelling hours at the gym enhancing their backsides, others are risking their lives by going under the knife for the 'perfect' hourglass figure.
A staggering 40,320 women had buttock augmentation procedures in 2020, according to figures released in 2022 by .
The appeal of a big butt is thought to have been fuelled by the rise of Instagram and the 'Kardashian effect', which saw fans desperately trying to replicate the reality TV brood's looks.
I would say that the extent of the changes we see in their buttocks go beyond what is typically achievable through simply working out.''

The most common bottom-enhancing procedure is the controversial Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) which involves injecting fat from other parts of the body into the bottom to give a more rounded or lifted look.
The surgery - which had over 4.4 million searches in 2022, according to - carries the highest risk of all cosmetic procedures - with more than one in 4,000 resulting in fatality.
Previously, The Sun reported how Brit Hayley Dowell died following £7k BBL in Turkey, with her husband later stating that she had not been properly informed of the risks.
Hayley's death is the just one in a series of tragedies to hit Brits who go under the knife.
In 2024, Kaydell Brown, 38, died after paying £5,400 for the procedure, as well as a tummy tuck and a boob job.
While mum Alice Webb died in that same year in September after allegedly undergoing the surgery in the UK.
Despite the huge dangers, BBLs are the fastest-growing type of cosmetic surgery, says the (BAAPS) - and its popularity is increasing by an astronomical 20 per cent year on year.
Naturally, celebrities, too, have fallen victim to this trend - but which famous faces insist their backside is fully natural?
Here, Fabulous takes a look at the A-listers who've been open about getting a BBL - and the ones who've hit back at the rumours and insist their bums are the result of hard work and the right diet.
'We get up, we do the work' - Kim Kardashian
Arguably the instigator of the mega butt mania, Kim Kardashian, 44, has always been at the centre of BBL accusations.
The mother-of-four's butt, world-famous in its own right, is so curvaceous fans have long wondered if the glorious behind is all hers.
But while the face behind SKIMS has been vocal about getting Botox to keep her youthful glow, the billionaire has never publicly admitted to forking out for a BBL.
In 2018, after sceptics raised an eyebrow at Kim’s extra-round rump, the star attempted to prove its legitimacy by getting it X-rayed during an episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians.
The doctor X-rayed Kourtney’s breasts first, to show viewers what an implant looks like, and then X-rayed Kim’s backside and held up an image proclaiming: “No implants!”
In the second part of the series that aired in summer 2021, Kim was asked if she thought her family was promoting unattainable standards of beauty, to which she replied: “No, I don’t.
''Because we get up, we do the work, we work out.”
'It's the seam design of the leggings' - Khloe Kardashian
Much like her sister, Khloe Kardashian, 40, has also stunned fans with her jaw-dropping body transformation over the years, which includes a teeny waist and extra round glutes.
Recently, TV viewers were left convinced she'd had a BBL after a clip showed her working out in in figure-hugging leggings.
One eagle-eyed fan shared the moment on a popular Keeping Up With the Kardashians forum, prompting others to weigh in on Khloe's appearance.
"Jesus Christ, Khloe's booty. That thing ain't natural," one person commented.
"She needs to build some real muscle and ditch the a**," a second wrote.
Critics pointing out her major body transformation have repeatedly accused the mum-of-two of getting a BBL.
Although Khloe has denied going under the knife to enhance her figure, it hasn't stopped skeptics from questioning how she obtained her curves.
The Revenge Body alumnus has maintained that her changing shape was the product of a healthy diet and exercise.
Another instance saw Khloe hitting back at an online troll who insisted they could see ''her implants when stretching'' during a workout, .
To this, the Good American founder said: ''Lol, silly goose. It's the seam design of the leggings.
''That's so funny, ha! You guys just want to believe anything so bad.''
Can you really get a BBL butt by just 'exercise'?
Dr Aamer Khan, cosmetic doctor explains what's really going on with celebrity behinds...
“Celebrity cosmetic procedures, particularly Brazilian Butt Lifts (BBLs), continue to fascinate the public, and arguably for good reason,'' Dr Aamer Khan, cosmetic doctor and co-founder of the award-winning told Fabulous.
''When you look at the dramatically enhanced curves of celebrities like Kim Kardashian, Khloé Kardashian, Jennifer Lopez, and Iggy Azalea, it’s no surprise that the public speculates over what they may or may have had done.
''For instance, Kim Kardashian has denied having a BBL, attributing her figure to a mix of strict diet, exercise, and body-shaping undergarments.
''Khloé Kardashian, similarly, has credited her transformation to waist training and working out.
''However, as an experienced cosmetic doctor, I would say that the extent of the changes we see in their buttocks go beyond what is typically achievable through these means.''
"A Brazilian Butt Lift involves transferring fat from areas like the abdomen or thighs to the buttocks, it creates a very distinctive round, perky and youthful look.
''A BBL not only increases the size of the derriere but the surgery also reshapes it to create a much more exaggerated silhouette than what’s naturally common.
''When we see these striking hourglass figures, and especially when they seem to develop over a relatively short period of time, it’s understandable why surgery is suspected.
"That said, it’s important to note that body shaping can also be achieved through non-surgical means.
''Many celebrities, as do some patients of my clinic, use a combination of techniques to achieve a certain silhouette.
''Corsetry, gel pads worn under clothing, and compression garments designed to lift and sculpt the buttocks are more popular among celebrities than people realise – particularly for red carpet events and photo shoots.''
These garments, he explained, can give the illusion of a surgically enhanced figure without any procedure taking place.
"While we may never know the full extent of what each celebrity has or hasn’t done, what’s clear is that when we see a significant and sudden change in body contour, especially where the waist appears to shrink while the hips expand, it’s fair to question whether surgical or aesthetic enhancement has taken place."
'It is my real bum' - Iggy Azalea
Aussie rapper Iggy Azalea, 36, is almost as famous for her perky derriere as she is for her music.
The mum-of-one, who shot to fame with her song Fancy in 2014, is no stranger to surgery as the hitmaker previously fessed up to a boob job and nose job - but insists she's never had butt implants.
Iggy - who split from the father of her kid, Playboi Carti in 2020, previously told Brisbane's hit105 radio station: “They aren’t my real boobs, but it is my real bum.
“I do have a small waist, I have to work on it – I am never allowed to eat what I want.”
Iggy said she did not plan to completely change herself, adding: "It's important to remember you can't change everything. You can never be perfect."
'I have never done Botox or any other injectables or surgery' - Jennifer Lopez
An original Fly Girl, Jennifer Lopez, 55, has contended with rumours regarding the her enviable figure throughout her career, after venturing into the music industry in 1999.
Since her very public split from ex-husband Ben Affleck in 2024, the global superstar has been sharing some revealing snaps of herself.
J-Lo, who filed for divorce from Ben after two years of marriage, has always left many fans not just thirsty - but also wondering whether she's gone under the knife.
The Bronx native has always been adamant about having never gotten any surgical alteration to amplify her beauty.
“For the 500 millionth time… I have never done Botox or any other injectables or surgery!!” the mum-of-two lashed out at a social media user in 2021, .
Dr Aamer Khan told The Sun: "Jennifer Lopez has long been celebrated for her curves and insists her body is a result of genetics, clean living, and consistent fitness.
''In her case this is plausible. She has a natural body type that carries more volume in the hips and glutes.''
'I got my a** done. And then I felt super confident' - Cardi B
Cardi B is one of the handful of celebrities who's been vocal about the work she's had done - even going as far as crediting plastic surgery for giving her confidence after feeling ‘'ugly and undeveloped’' as a teen.
The 32-year-old New Jersey superstar, who in October cancelled a festival performance after being hospitalized following a ‘'medical emergency’', opened up about the confidence boost in a candid conversation with for .
spoke to the pop legend about how she used to be bullied for her physical appearance, sharing: "I was also really skinny when I was younger, and in the Bronx, it’s about being thick and having an a**, so young boys would be like, 'Look at your flat a**. You ain’t got no t**ies.'
"And it would make me feel so ugly and undeveloped."
After Mariah asked if Cardi felt vindicated now that she's made a big name for herself, the WAP singer admitted: "I feel so vindicated.
"Even when I was 18 and became a dancer, I had enough money to afford to buy boobs, so every insecurity that I felt about my breasts was gone.
"When I was 20, I went to the urban strip club, and in the urban strip clubs, you had to have a big butt. So I felt insecure about that. It took me back to high school.
''So I got my a** done. And then I felt super confident."
What are Brazilian Butt Lifts and why are they so popular?
Buttock enlargement surgery - known as a Brazilian butt-lift (BBL) - is used to make the bum look bigger, rounded and lifted.
Surgeons transfer fat, inject filler or insert silicone-filled implants.
It is the fastest growing cosmetic procedure but also one of the most dangerous, according to the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS).
Many patients are travelling to the likes of Turkey or seeking out unregistered surgeons in the UK and are not given full information on the risks.
BBLs carry the highest risk of all cosmetic surgeries - with more than one death occurring per 4,000 procedures.
Due to celebrities undergoing such ops, many women are hoping to emulate their looks.
Consultant clinical psychologist Dr Anu Sayal-Bennett, a chartered member of the British Psychological Society, told : "Despite there being so much about body positivity, there are pressures for women - and men too - to look a certain way."
Many people travel abroad for the procedure because it is cheaper and advertising is "terribly seductive", combined with the idea of a beach holiday, added Dr Sayal-Bennett.
Left with a 'saggy deflated bag of jelly' - Holly Hagan
It's not just stars across the pond who have gone under the knife to enhance their figures - our very own Holly Hagan has bravely confessed to getting a BBL.
The Geordie Shore legend, 32, recently explained that her body insecurities all started with a comment from a man she was dating.
"I was already insecure; I didn't have much self-worth or self-esteem," she explained.
"I remember going on a night out and one of the guys being like, 'See, if you had t**s like that you'd be amazing,' and my friend had big boobs and I was like, 'I've got nothing here.'
"I wanted a boob job before I even started puberty."
Holly admitted she was getting paid well from Geordie Shore and at 21, had little in the way of bills so instead spent it on surgery - and by 2017, she had had three BBLs.
"I was like, 'I can try and look like a Kardashian, and life is going to be okay'," she continued.
But it wasn't long before Holly began to regret her decision to get a rounder backside - which she estimated cost enough for ''a house deposit''.
Since welcoming her first child in summer last year with footballer Jacob Blyth, Holly has dedicated herself to “naturally” reversing her BBL through exercise.
She has bravely documented the process on TikTok.
“The point is I’m having to live with the saggy deflated bag of jelly I have left for a bum and there’s no way I’m going through more surgery to attempt to fix it so I will live with my mistakes,” she said.
At just ten months post baby, Holly managed to “shrink” her bum to 41 inches from a whopping 50 inches through exercise.
According to her fitness app Team Fitty, her fitness regime includes a range of walking, ab exercises, resistance training and intense ten minute tabatas - a high-intensity interval training (HIIT) that involves 20 seconds of exercise at maximum effort, followed by ten seconds of rest.
'I am so mad I did that s**t' - SZA
While Cardi B may be feeling more confident than ever with her bigger backside, fellow American rapper and singer SZA recently admitted she regretted getting a BBL.
The 35-year-old, who stunned fans with her epic Superbowl Halftime show with Kendrick Lamar earlier this year, called her decision to get the popular surgical treatment “stupid”.
“I’m so mad I did that s**t,” she told last year.
“I gained all this weight from being immobile while recovering and trying to preserve the fat. It was just so stupid.
“But who gives a f***? You got a BBL, you realise you didn’t need the s**t. It doesn’t matter,” she continued.
“I’ll do a whole bunch more s**t just like it if I want to before I’m f***ing dead because this body is temporary.
''It just wasn’t super necessary – I have other s**t that I need to work on about myself… I need to get my f***ing mental health together.''
However, SZA did stipulate that she’s not unhappy with the results of her procedure: “But I love my butt. Don’t get me wrong.
''My booty look nice. And I’m grateful that it looks pretty much… I don’t know, sometimes natural, but I don’t even care.
''It’s something that I wanted. I’m enjoying it. I love shaking it,'' said the Grammy winner who got the procedure in 2022.
'Soon I'm going to have a bubble butt' - Katie Price
Although her love for surgery often sparks controversy, Katie Price remains unfazed.
The star first underwent a bum lift in January last year and had her second one two months later.
In November of the same year, the former glamour model, 46, said she wanted the “bubble butt” look she’d always dreamed of, adding to her already extensive list of procedures.
She said: “I've just had my consultation to get my bum as big as my lips.
“I'm getting it done in January but this time they've got an ultrasound which means it'll be much safer. Get used to the big lips because soon I'm going to have a bubble butt. Wahey!"
The mum-of-five brought her followers along with her as she underwent the treatment - in which 500mls of filler were injected into her buttocks.
Luckily for the bankrupt TV personality, she received the £1,500 procedure for free via an aesthetics expert, who contacted her via Instagram.
'How ridiculous I looked' - Chloe Ferry
Since having her BBL in 2017, Chloe Ferry, 29, has become known for her curvy bum which was often the main feature of her selfies.
The Newcastle lass previously showed off the changes to her body - confessing she had thought going under the knife would solve her problems.
She wrote: "For a long time, I believed that changing my body would bring me happiness but what I really needed, was to change the way I saw myself.''
However, since then, The Geordie Shore legend has learnt to embrace her natural figure, with The Sun revealing in February how Chloe had got her BBL reversed after checking into hospital for the procedure.
The MTV star, who split from her boyfriend Johnny Wilbo ''for good'' in March, took to Instagram to show off her new backside following the surgery.
In the clip, she admitted: "I can't compose myself, I don't even know what I did.
"I'm more like emotional now than what I was when I had the surgery and I don't even know why this has just like come over it.
"Wow. I don't even know why I feel this emotional because I didn't feel this emotional when I was physically getting the surgery."
Despite her tears, Chloe made it clear she was happy with the results, stating: "I'm happy about the result, I'm happy, I'm just in shock."
Reflecting on her previous appearance, Chloe was overcome with disbelief, admitting: "I don't even know why I'm so emotional because I'm so happy with my results.
"But like, I just can't like, look at now, like how ridiculous I looked. I looked like that for so long.
"It's just really, really hit it hard. Like, I can't even."
