Nail tech shows off clients ask for a ‘duck’ pedi & beauty fans slam it as ‘scary’ & ‘a service I’d refuse to pay for’

A NAIL technician who showcased a client’s unusual request for a ‘duck’ pedicure has been criticised by beauty enthusiasts as ‘scary’.
Taking to TikTok, the nail technician shared a video of her working on the client’s nails.
It has since garnered over 499,000 views, leaving many social media users in shock.
The account, known as @, first revealed the finished look before providing a step-by-step guide on how the distinctive nails were created.
The process began with buffing the client’s natural nails, followed by gluing extensions onto them and applying acrylics.
Acrylic nails are artificial enhancements created by combining a liquid monomer with a powder polymer.

These can be shaped and filed to achieve a variety of lengths and styles.
However, the client in the video opted for long extensions – a choice many would not typically make.
The nail technician described the design as: “Creating bold Duck toenails for a client.”
Duck nails are a nail shape where the nail tip flares outward, and they resemble a duck's foot.

The final look featured blue nails with red tips.
Within two days of the video being shared, it gained 1,493 comments.
Many wanted to share their shock how the chosen design.
One wrote: "Duck nails on feet!"
A second added: "The customer is not always right…"
Whilst a third said: "This is definitely a service that I would refuse as a Nail Tech , sorry but you ain’t spoiling my brand."
And another added: "I'm scared."

Gracie O'Kane explained that she had asked the beauty tech for the viral pastel yellow nails, but instead got something much different.
Sharing her nails on TikTok, she said: "POV (Point of View): thought I picked Easter pastel yellow but I got dirty decay yellow instead.''

According to the National Occupational Standards, anyone under the age of 16 has to be accompanied by an adult.
They also need written consent from a parents or guardian.
