Comedian Emily Heller thought she had bought a rugged new doormat from the online retailer, but was stunned to see what arrived in its place
ONLINE shopping can be a risky business, since there's always the chance that you'll be disappointed when you finally get your hands on your purchase.
And Comedian Emily Heller found this out the hard way, after a hilarious Amazon fail left her feeling bemused - and her Twitter followers in stitches.
She thought she had bought a rugged new doormat from the online retailer, but was stunned to see what arrived in it's place - a sheet of foam with a photo of a mat printed on it.
The doormat, sold by a third-party seller on the site, even looked like the genuine article in the photos on Amazon, which only added to her shock at what arrived instead.
Naturally, the comedian took to Twitter to share some shots of the useless foam item, which came in place of the 18 x 30 ‘desert taupe’ doormat she thought she was ordering.
After first sharing the photos on Wednesday evening, Emily revealed there was a happy ending after all when she posted an update just hours later to say she had received a full refund.
And the now-famous mat at the centre of the scandal eventually found a loving home, after it was given to a lucky fan at one of her recent gigs.
