From emergency plane landings to tourists battling each other for sunbeds in the morning… these are the worst holiday horrors from Brits abroad
ITV's Holiday Horrors: Caught on Camera shows the dark side to going away on vacation

FROM emergency aeroplane landings to crazed tourists battling each other for sunbeds in the morning, these are the worst moments Brits have experienced abroad.
ITV's new show Holiday Horrors: Caught on Camera shows the dangers and some of the funny fails that come from going on summer vacations.
Emergency landing
This evening's episode starts off with a terrifying tale of a man who lived through and caught on camera everyone's worst possible fear while flying.
During his eight month trip around the world, Ethan Williams was travelling from Hong Kong to Los Angeles when he experienced the moment every traveller dreads.
Ethan was sat in his seat and started filming himself when he noticed something strange going on around him, "all the flight attendants are running around like crazy and all the warning signs are going off", he explained.
Shortly after, an announcement is made and passengers are told: "We are going to do an emergency landing and it might be necessary for us to make an emergency ditching."
Speaking on the ITV show, Ethan said: "When they mentioned the word emergency ditching I knew kind of what that meant, it was more of a crash as opposed to a landing.
"You looked around the plane and saw fear in everyone's eyes."
Fortunately, the next announcement said: "We are anticipating a normal landing" and they plane was able to stop at a remote island near Alaska.
Sunbed wars
The next clip shows a more comical side to holidaying abroad, it starts with a view of an empty poolside in which you can see a number of empty sunbeds.
"Rows of empty sun loungers" says the person holding the camera before continuing, "every morning they go through this scenario, the chats have stopped and tension builds."
The funny video shows groups of people standing by the swimming pool and we're told they've been eagerly waiting there since 8.30am.
Next a woman's voice jokes: "They're on starter's orders, they're off, look at that" and the footage then shows swarms of holidaymakers rushing to get dibs on a sunbed.
Sinking duck
It's not just vacations abroad that can be dangerous, as this Liverpool couple, who were enjoying an afternoon on the river, demonstrate.
The pair had been sat on their narrow boat enjoying a summer's day, when the Linda noticed something was wrong with the popular tourist attraction the floating duck.
The worrying video shows the bright yellow duck boat sinking into the water as holidaymakers struggle to stay afloat.
Explaining of the moment, Alan said they immediately reacted and decided to "undo the rope and get over there as quick."
While the Linda said "when we got over there only the tip of the duck was showing" but there was two victims who caught their eye because they couldn't swim and had a child.
"Your attention was straight away brought to them, I managed to crouch down and take the child," said Alan.
An investigation found that the duck boat sunk because it didn't have enough buoyancy foam to keep it afloat, but thankfully all 33 people were saved.

Selfie fails
Thankfully our holiday moments can also be very humorous, as the next series of hilarious selfies snaps featured on the ITV show demonstrate.
These girls will wish they never stepped foot on the ice after this embarrassing snapshot, while this man proves even the streets aren't a safe place for tourists.
And these four friends found out the hard way that mother nature reigns supreme in all situations and these guys should always keep an eye out on where they're going.
Saving slumdogs
But it's not all doom and gloom, as Angela and Ian found when they went on a holiday and came back with another family member called Indie.
While on their four week holiday to Goa, the animal-loving couple saw posters for a rescue centre, so they went along to have a look and that's when they met a puppy called Indie.
Tragically, Indie had been left there after breaking her back in an accident but she was so desperate to spend time with the pair, Indie would try to follow them while on walks with the other dogs.
"While it was heartbreaking, it was also uplifting because she so wanted to fit in and survive" explained Lindsey.
"We wondered what we could do to help her and we decided to take her home."
Amazingly, thanks to generous donations, the couple raised £2,500 to bring her back to Essex and now she has her own set of wheels that help her run around.
