McDonald’s customers are raging after ‘best’ menu item is quietly discontinued

MCDONALD'S has confirmed it's axed "the best" menu item leaving customers raging.
The fast food giant has ditched its Chicken Bacon Caesar Wrap as part of a "rotation" of its offering.
The wrap, which combined chicken breast strips, crispy onions, rashers of bacon and lettuce, was first launched in summer 2023.
However, the home of the Big Mac said it was taken off menus earlier this month.
A spokesperson added: "As part of our regular wrap rotation, we've taken the Caesar wrap off the menu for now.
"We're always evolving our menu with our customers in mind to keep things fresh and exciting."
News the wrap has been dropped from menus has not been met well by fast food fans though.
Posting on Reddit, one commented: "Where has it gone? Please don’t tell me it’s discontinued. It’s the best one of them all!"
Another chipped in: "What the hell?! Why’s this not been publicised anywhere. It was the best one of all of them.
"I can’t believe they’ve decided to go with the Katsu over it. How can I complain."
While a third added: "It was the only good one in this current line up, I'll gladly die in (sic) this hill."
It's worth bearing in mind, McDonald's, like other fast food chains and retailers, regularly shakes up its menu.
That means there is a chance the Chicken Caesar Wrap could make a return at some point in the future.
Last October, McDonald's announced it was bringing back its iconic McRib after almost 10 years for a limited time.
It came after customers begged for the pork-based sandwich, which first launched in 1981, to make a comeback.
However, it was quietly discontinued the following month.
A host of other items have come off menus in recent years to make way for new ones including the fan favourite Chicken Legend.
The Breakfast Bagel and iconic Sundaes have also fallen off menus since 2018.
Customers were left fuming after McDonald's axed breakfast wraps during the first wave of the coronavirus pandemic in March 2020.
The Sun exclusively revealed earlier this month McDonald's has sneakily hiked the price of its popular menu items.
Our research found the price of four items has jumped by up to 15% in the last 12 months.
Customers now have to pay 10% more for the popular Steakhouse Stack burger, which now costs £5.99 as a single item when it was £5.49 last year.
Its Biscoff Frappe has also been hiked, from £2.99 to £3.09, while its Biscoff McFlurry is now £2.29, up from £1.99.
Customers have been left fuming over the price hikes as they tackle higher housing and retail costs.
One said: "Why has McDonald’s gotten so expensive?!!! More than £5 for a Big Mac is just wild."
"Ive stopped eating there a while ago, I always had couple of double cheeseburgers, they were 1.59 each and a wrap of the day that was 1.99," another commenter said.
"Right now double cheeseburgers are over 2 quid I think. It’s just not worth it anymore. Big Mac is 5 quid and I will destroy it in 4-5 bites. I rather make food at home now."
Another person wrote: "I remember the days an extra value meal was £2.88."
You could end up being charged more for a McDonald's meal based solely on the McDonald's restaurant you choose.
Research by The Sun found a Big Mac meal can be up to 30% cheaper at restaurants just two miles apart from each other.
You can pick up a Big Mac and fries for just £2.99 at any time by filling in a feedback survey found on McDonald's receipts.
The receipt should come with a 12-digit code which you can enter into the Food for Thought website alongside your submitted survey.
You'll then receive a five-digit code which is your voucher for the £2.99 offer.
There are some deals and offers you can only get if you have the My McDonald’s app, so it’s worth signing up to get money off your meals.
The MyMcDonald’s app can be downloaded on iPhone and Android phones and is quick to set up.
You can also bag freebies and discounts on your birthday if you’re a My McDonald’s app user.
The chain has recently sent out reminders to app users to fill out their birthday details - otherwise they could miss out on birthday treats.
