The hotly-anticipated new SUV from Jaguar has been teased ahead of its official launch this month.

And the extreme testing conditions the upcoming Jaguar E-Pace has been put through have been revealed in the new video.

Heavily camouflaged, the E-Pace is shown tackling the sub-zero temperatures of the Arctic Circle and the dust and heat of the Dubai desert.

A series of brutal off-road routes across four continents were all part of the two-year testing programme.

Its all-wheel drive capabilities are put to the test along with the special all-terrain technology during the intensive process with temperatures ranging from -40C to 48C.

The E-Pace has even been on track for 400 laps of the famous Nürburgring race track in Germany to fine tune its handling and performance.

In total, the E-Pace has been tested for 120,000 hours with 150 prototypes used and 500 engineers working on the project.

The video hints the Jaguar E-Pace will take on its final test at the official launch event on July 13.

Graham Wilkins, chief product engineer for the Jaguar E-Pace, said: "Our team of world class engineers and dynamics specialists have meticulously tuned and developed a true Jaguar.

"Months of intense testing on roads and tracks around the world have delivered a compact performance SUV that is true to Jaguar’s performance DNA."

The baby SUV which will sit below the all-conquering F-Pace in the Brit maker's lineup will take on the BMW X1 and Audi Q3.

It'll be fitted with Jag's new Ingenium petrol and diesel engines and is expected to cost from around £28,000 when it goes on sale in 2018.
