Reckless Porsche driver clocked driving 163MPH on the M1 as number of speeders increases eight-fold during lockdown
A COVIDIOT was clocked at 163mph in his Porsche on the M1 — one of the highest speeds ever recorded by cops.
Quieter lockdown roads have led to an eight-fold rise in speedsters caught compared to this time last year.

They will include the Porsche maniac caught on a laser gun between junctions 2 and 3 in North London last Saturday.
The Met’s Det Supt Andy Cox said: “You think of speeds like that being recorded at Silverstone. Their selfishness and recklessness puts everybody at risk.”
Last month, a SEAT driver hit 151mph while being chased by cops on the same M1 stretch.
Another moron was caught at 134mph in a 40mph zone in nearby Enfield, North London.
One motorist hit 73mph in a 20mph zone and another was recorded doing 85 in a 30 area.
London’s Met clocked 179 motorists doing 96mph or more in 70mph zones between March 24 and April 28 — up 167 per cent from 67 in the same period in 2019.
The figures cover those caught by cops and not roadside cameras. National figures are currently unavailable.
Det Supt Cox, raising awareness on Twitter @SuptAndyCox, said of his London patch: “We have seen some exceptionally high-speed driving with less congestion.

“Speeding is the biggest cause of fatal collisions and that puts extra pressure on the NHS, police, fire and ambulance services who are all dealing with Covid-19.”
In 2015, Shaun Davis, 42, was jailed for doing 192mph in a Nissan GTR on roads in Northants.
In 2007 Tim Brady, 33, was clocked at 172mph in a Porsche 911 Turbo on the A420 in Oxfordshire.
