'I wish him every possible success'

Tensions in the Tory Party have escalated following the former Mayor of London's shock decision to pull out of the leadership contest

BORIS Johnson is struggling to conceal his anger towards Michael Gove with his allies threatening to castrate the former friend.

As tensions in the Tory Party escalated today Ben Wallace MP, a key supporter of the former Mayor of London, said the Justice Secretary should suffer the same fate as Game of Thrones character Theon Greyjoy.

Johnson was a favourite for the PM job until yesterday morning when he sensationally crashed out of the race for Downing Street.

He abandoned his dream of running the country within hours of Michael Gove's declaring Johnson was not up to the job.

This morning Gove launched his own campaign to succeed David Cameron, and shrugged off criticism about betraying his fellow Brexiteer.

He laid out his alternative view for Britain this morning, saying he is "the candidate for change" - in stark comparison with Home Secretary Theresa May, who is pitching herself as the candidate for stability and continuity.

His decision to run saw him labelled a “c***” by a senior figure in the Boris camp.

And after one of the most brutal political assassinations in decades, Tory MP Jake Berry tweeted in fury: “There is a very deep pit reserved in Hell for such as he”.

And Tory MP Ben Wallace today even threatened to castrate Gove.

During a discussion on Twitter where politicians were being compared to characters from the hit TV series Game of Thrones, Wallace said Gove was "Theon Greyjoy or will be by the time I am finished with him".

Greyjoy was castrated in one of the show's most gruesome scenes.

And Tory heavyweight, and former Chancellor, Ken Clarke waded into the row, saying Gove should drop his leadership bid.

Today Johnson was in Tiverton, Devon, for a Tory party event and posed for selfies with supporters but was accused of being a “massive child” as he arrived.

Writing on Facebook, Jamie Nathaniel Carne Whyte said: "We came to the Tory dinner in Tiverton to see Boris.

“Asked him to apologise for racial abuse received by my friend due to the vote that he caused.

“Might have called him a massive child..."

Since the referendum result Johnson has become a target for people angry at the vote to leave the European Union.

This morning protesters stood outside his North London home, armed with banners stating “Liar, liar, pants on fire” as well as underwear pictured with his and other MPs faces on them.

He was accused of being “an absolute disgrace” who did not “have the guts to sort it out” by leading the work in negotiating the UK’s break from Brussels.

One man shouted at Johnson, “Boris, you should be ashamed of yourself.

“What have you done to this country?”

But the leading Brexit campaigner hit back saying “It seems absolutely fine to me. Nonsense.”

And today he was accosted by journalists as he left his home in North London and was repeatedly asked whether he felt he had been 'betrayed' by Gove.

Declining to answer the question directly he said: "I cannot now, unfortunately, get on with what I wanted to do.

"That's up to somebody else now and I wish him every possible success."

On Friday morning just hours after the Brexit camp's victory was announced, protesters shouted "scum" and "twat" at Mr Johnson as he emerged from his home.

Instead of staying to talk to reporters he was escorted to a waiting vehicle while police officers linked arms to provide a barrier between him and protesters.
