This scuba diver got one hell of a fright - when he was bashed in the face by a SHARK.

Michael Dornellas, 31, was filming underwater when the half-blind lemon shark accidentally crashed into him.

As the curious beast swoops in to investigate, it appears to misjudge its speed and careers straight into his mask, pulling it briefly from his face and knocking him sideways.

Fortunately, the shark decides to brush it off and slowly slips away again into the abyss.

The footage was shot just off Tiger Beach in the Bahamas.

Michael, from White Palm Beach, Florida, said: “I love being close to sharks but that lemon hit me pretty hard and smashed my mask into my face.

“It felt like someone had punched me.  I quickly cleared the water out of my mask and headed to the surface.

“I’m glad the shark wasn’t trying to bite me, and what we were just crossing paths.

"That shark is actually blind in its left eye, we found out so she didn't see me as much as I didn't see her."
