UN in desperate scramble to secure Aleppo ceasefire to save dying kids trapped in hellhole warzone
Pledge to speed up peace talks comes as The Sun launches our Aid for Aleppo Appeal

THE United Nations has said it is "extremely concerned" about the safety of helpless children in the bombed-out Syrian warzone of Aleppo.
The city is at the centre of some of the worst fighting in the country, as anti-Assad rebels in the east try to hold out against government shelling backed up by Russian warplanes and Iranian militias.
At least 22 children have been killed this week in clashes raging through the Syrian city of Aleppo.
Dozens more have been injured in raids by government forces backed by Russian air strikes.
"There is still time, we cannot give up hope.
"Bear with us and I think in next few days there might be some movement," UN Deputy Special Envoy for Syria Ramzy Ezzeldin Ramzy said in Geneva.
The UN is trying to broker a peace deal between US-backed Syrian rebels and the government of Bashar al-Assad, supported by Putin's Russia, after a short-lived truce this year.
American and Russian military chiefs are trying to agree a cooperation plan "that would unlock the entire solution", Ramzy said.
"We need to do something about Aleppo and very quickly.
"There is still a chance for that in the next days".

The UN pledge to intensify peace talks comes as The Sun launches our Aid For Aleppo appeal.
We are aiming to raise money to give aid to the 300,000 remaining inhabitants in the city -- of which at least 100,000 are defenceless children.
The money will go towards providing vulnerable Syrian children with food, supporting hospitals and setting up specialist emotional support.
