UNDERCOVER cops hid in a bus for THREE DAYS in an elaborate sting - only to catch an 11-year-old boy who likes throwing stones.
The officers posed as passengers during "Operation Spinefoot" in a clampdown on louts hurling missiles at moving buses.
After days of patiently waiting, the cops finally arrested an 11-year-old boy who hurled a glass bottle at the vehicle in Oxgangs, Edinburgh.
Scottish cops launched the operation amid public fears that kids hurling stones and other objects at buses could cause a crash.
Sgt William Telford said: "These incidents alarm passengers and risk distracting the driver, which threatens the safety of all road users."

The boy was charged with reckless conduct and referred to the chidren's reporter.
Two men were charged over similar offences last months and cops nabbed yobs with another decoy bus in Dalkeith, Midlothian.
Lothian Buses said: "We take the safety of our staff and passengers very seriously."
