THE shocking moment a waiter opens fire in a restaurant after a customer complained he had been given the wrong order has been caught on camera.

A number of shots can be heard ringing out through the Little Red Barn Steakhouse in San Antonio with customers sent running in a panic.

A witness told KENS5 media: "The customers mentioned that he messed up their order, so when the waiter went to the side to step back, one of the customers got loose and started beating on the waiter.

"All I saw was a black gun, cocked it back, went up in the air and shot."

The steakhouse restaurant is well-known for its waiters wearing fake guns and holsters.

The witness said that there were old ladies on the floor with one hiding in the back, crying.

The footage was caught on caught in shaky mobile phone footage, with the blurry footage capturing the terror of customers.

All those involved in the incident could now face charges.

The employee involved in the shooting could also lose his job as it is against the restaurant's policy for employees to have real guns.
