Julian Assange supporter sparks counter-terror alert after trying to drill into 30ft prison wall to break him free

A POTTY “jailbreak” stunt by Julian Assange supporters sparked a counter-terror alert costing taxpayers thousands.
Police raced to HMP Belmarsh after spotting a woman trying to drill through a 30ft perimeter wall of the high-security prison.
A video on her group’s website also showed her spraying “Priti Patel — Save Julian Assange” on the concrete barrier.
Officers are understood to have seized paint bombs, an axe and a “Jailbreak in Progress” sign in the May 12 incident.
The woman is said to have told staff she wanted to free Assange from the nick near Woolwich, South East London.
A source said: “This stunt wasted thousands. Specialist police and prison staff have far better things to do.”
