DONALD Trump descended to insults during the Las Vegas TV debate, calling Hillary Clinton a "nasty woman" and saying "I have heard nasty things about you."
The Republican nominee went head to head with his Democrat adversary on Wednesday night as the pair went in for verbal fisticuffs.
The 90 minute debate covered abortion, gun rights, the Supreme Court, Wikileaks emails, and sexual misconduct accusations which were made against Trump.
And he wasn't pulling any punches when it came to criticising Hillary - as she spoke out about social security issues he interrupted saying: "such a nasty horrid woman."
He then continued saying some of her allies had said mean things about her suggesting John Podesta and Bernie Sanders have both questioned her judgment.
“You're the one that's unfit,” Trump said to Clinton. “WikiLeaks just came out. John Podesta said some horrible things about you. Bernie Sanders, he said you have bad judgment. You do.”
However polls after the TV showdown seemed to suggest Clinton had won the hearts of viewers - she was leading Trump by between 5 and 7 percentage points in most opinion surveys.
The suggested she was topping her opponent by a 13-point margin.
Overall, 52% who watched tonight's matchup thought she had done the better job, while 39% thought Trump had taken the debate home.
During the TV face off, the billionaire also attacked the Bill, Hillary and Chelsea Clinton Foundation, saying it had scheme to accept contributions from nations that expected preferential treatment from Hillary due to her position as secretary of state.
He branded it a "criminal enterprise" and she retaliated "there is no evidence" and added "there is a lot of evidence of the good work.
