Vladimir Putin’s ‘Satan’ nukes would ‘WIPE OUT’ America’s East Coast in MINUTES should World War III break out, experts warn

A SINGLE strike of Russia's fearsome "Satan" nuclear warheads could wipe out the entire US East Coast, it is claimed.
The so-called SS-18 Satan is considered the most powerful atomic warhead in the world and carries a payload 1,000 times more powerful than those dropped on Japan.
Dr Paul Craig Roberts, writing for , claimed one warhead could wipe out most of New York state - while five or six would devastate the US East Coast.
Describing the misguided perception that nuclear war was not all that different to conventional warfare, he noted technological advances had made today's weapons much more powerful.
He wrote: "Look at Hiroshima and Nagasaki, two targets of American atomic bombs. Today, seven decades later, the cities are flourishing, so what’s the problem with nuclear weapons?

"The atomic bombs that Washington dropped on these helpless civilian centers while the Japanese government was trying to surrender, were mere popguns compared to today’s thermo-nuclear weapons.
"One Russian SS-18 wipes out three-fourths of New York state for thousands of years. Five or six of these “Satans” as they are known by the US military, and the East Coast of the United States disappears."
The missile can carry up to 10 separate warheads - meaning it can deliver multiple nukes to an area in a single strike, reported.
His comments come as it emerged Putin’s scientists are developing a new hypersonic jet called the PAK-DA, which it is claimed will be able to drop nuclear warheads from space.
With tensions between Russia and the West rising, it is said the new bomber will be capable of striking any target on the planet within two hours.
According to the Strategic Missile Forces Academy, the engine will operate in two modes – using kerosene fuel for conventional flight and a methane-oxygen combination to power the craft into space.
The craft’s shape also mimics the design of the US Stealth Bomber – making it invisible to radar.
