WHEN it comes to the business world, Emma Grede has at the top of he game thanks to her career as an entrepreneur.
As well as her stake in several high profile companies, the fashionista is also a philanthropist.
Emma Grede was born on September 23, 1982 and raised in east London, England and is a businesswoman, entrepreneur and fashion designer.
She studied business at the London College of Fashion, but dropped out after securing an internship at Gucci she dropped out of college.

After this, Emma worked at Gharani Strok before joining Inca Productions, best known for producing shows at London Fashion Week.
At just 26 years of age, she began her talent marketing firm ITB Worldwide.
The company serves clients such as H&M, TikTok, Tommy Hilfiger, and YSL Beauty, among several others.
Emma is chairwoman of the 15 Percent Pledge, which asks retailers to reserve at least 15 percent of shelf space for Black-owned businesses.
Speaking about her journey to success, Grede said: “My skill was in interpreting a creative person’s vision and generating real business from it.
“I was a poor kid, and I wanted to create something that had profit.”
Emma now spends most of her time in the US — having bought Brad Pitt's Malibu holiday home for $35million in 2022, to add to their Bel Air mansion, worth $24million.
Emma has a net worth of $360 Million USD (approximately £282 million).
She has earned herself numerous accolades during her impressive career.
Grede was recognised as one of Forbes' "30 Under 30" in the Marketing & Advertising category.
Emma is behind multiple fashion, retail and lifestyle brands, and is a co-founder and the CEO of Good American.
As well as the founding partner of the shapewear brand SKIMMS, she also co-founded plant-powered cleaning brand Safely.
Emma is married to Swedish entrepreneur Jens Grede, who is the chief executive of SKIMS.
While not much information on their relationship is publicly available, they reportedly met as business partners before falling in love.
In 2003, Jens and his business partner Eric Torstensson launched a London-based creative agency called Saturday Group.
Before the launch, the two worked at the interior design magazine Wallpaper.
The duo worked as editors-in-chief at Man About Town before launching their fashion magazine: Industrie.
With collaboration efforts from supermodel Karlie Kloss, Grede and Torstensson launched Frame Denim in 2012.
Grede and reality star Kim Kardashian created her shapewear brand Skims in 2019.
Emma and her husband also work together on Khloe Kardashian's fashion line, Good American.
Khloe and Emma worked together to inaugurate the size-inclusive clothing company in 2016.
The couple have four children together - Grey, Lola, and twins Lake and Rafferty.
On November 2, 2021, Emma took to her Instagram account to of her and Jens' newborn twin babies — who came into the world with the help of a surrogate mother.
"Welcome to the world our daughter Lake Holiday London and our son Rafferty Banks Kjell Grede," she captioned the photo.
Speaking about being a mother, Grede said: “I love that I know my children so well.
"I can even tell from their cries if there’s a real need or not.
"There’s something very satisfying in that bond.”
Grede met Kris Jenner through her marketing agency work.
After spending a year developing Good American, it was launched in October 2016.
Emma had a business idea of creating denim for women of all shapes and sizes.
With this idea, she approached Kar-Jenner matriarchs, Kris and Khloe.
After her successful pitch, she started the venture Good American with Kardashians.
The brand has grown from strength to strength since it made its first $1 million on day one, back in 2016.
Emma is a founding partner and chief product officer of Kim Kardashian's shapewear brand SKIMS.
She owns an 8% stake in the brand.
In 2022, SKIMS doubled its valuation to $3.2 billion after raising $240 million in fresh funds.
Grede doesn't agree with the idea the the company's success is just down to celebrity pulling power.
She told : “Talent can bring you to a product once, but you don’t come back time and time again.”
Emma appeared as a guest investor on Dragons' Den on February 1, 2024.
Speaking about why she decided to be a Dragon on the programme, Emma said: “I have been watching the show for so many years (also my nan is an absolute super fan), so being able to come back to the UK as a Dragon to share my own experience with the budding entrepreneurs entering the Den is very exciting.
“What I’ve understood in my years in business is so much of it isn’t always about who has the best idea — it’s often who has who has access to the right opportunities."
Emma added: "I’m no stranger to the boardroom.

Emma has also been a guest investor on a similar show in the States called Shark Tank.
