THERESA May and Jeremy Corbyn came together to urge people to buy a Christmas charity single in slain Labour MP Jo Cox’s memory.
The display of Commons unity came after the Treasury announced it would waive VAT on the cover version Rolling Stones’ hit You Can’t Always Get What You Want.
The tune released this Friday features MPs and musicians including KT Tunstall and David Gray.
Cash raised will go to the Jo Cox Foundation, which supports a range of charities including the Royal Voluntary Service and White Helmets.
Speaking during Prime Minister’s Questions, Labour leader Mr Corbyn asked: “Sadly our late colleague Jo Cox will not be celebrating Christmas this year with her family.
“She was murdered and taken from us so I hope the Prime Minister, and I’m sure she will, will join me in encouraging people to download the song which many members helped to create - a tribute to Jo’s life and work and in everlasting memory of her.”
Prime Minister Mrs May replied: “You are absolutely right to raise this issue.
“I’m sure everybody in this House wishes to send a very clear message - download this single for the Jo Cox Foundation.
“It’s a very important cause and we all recognise that Jo Cox was a fine member of this House and would have carried on contributing significantly to this House and this country had she not been brutally murdered.”

Mrs May added: “I think everybody involved in it has in fact given their services for free.”
“And once again let’s just encourage everybody to download this single.”
MPs cheered as the PM referenced the parliamentary rock group MP4, who she later posed for photographs with in Downing Street to plug the single.
Neo-Nazi Thomas Mair was handed a whole-life sentence for the murder of Labour MP Mrs Cox in June.
