EasyJet flight from London forced into unscheduled landing to avoid ‘severe’ turbulence
Airbus A320 lands in Spanish city of Malaga rather than Almeria following its departure from Gatwick earlier this morning

AN EASYJET flight from London to Spain was forced to divert over fears “severe” turbulence could damage it.
The Airbus A320 jet landed in Malaga rather than Almeria following its departure from Gatwick earlier this morning.
An easyJet spokeswoman confirmed the EZY5163 service was diverted because of "a technical issue".
She said: "The aircraft landed routinely and did not declare an emergency or request an expedited landing.
"Engineers attended the aircraft and it has now continued to Almeria.
"We would like to apologise to all passengers for any inconvenience caused by the diversion and subsequent delay.
"The safety of its passengers and crew is easyJet's highest priority and easyJet operates its fleet of aircraft in strictcompliance with all manufacturers' guidelines."
