Medium captures ‘faces of John Lennon and George Harrison’ after summoning spirits on silver paper

Christine uses a technique called instrumental transcommunication to summon up images in reflective surfaces such as water, steam and silver origami paper

A MEDIUM claims to have captured a Beatles reunion beyond the grave after the ghostly faces of John Lennon and George Harrison mysteriously appeared on a piece of silver paper she left out for "spirits".

Pop fan Christine Hamlett, 60, uses a technique called instrumental transcommunication to summon up images in reflective surfaces such as water, steam and silver origami paper while she records it on her camera.

She claims to have been visited before by the ghosts of Princess Diana, Elvis, Michael Jackson and Winston Churchill, and also claims she captured the ghost of Richard III on camera at Leicester Cathedral.

Her latest snap appears to show the slightly overlapping faces of John and George complete with their famous bushy brows and dark mop tops from in early 1960s when they had hits including Love Me Do.

Christine's method of reaching out to the spirit world via camera is a form of instrumental transcommunication – the use of electrical equipment to make contact with those who have died.

The gran-of-12, of Northwich, Cheshire, said: "I use silver origami paper – you have to pin it to a hard surface so I use a tray – and then I ask the spirits to show themselves and take a photo.

"I don't invite any particular ghosts or spirits to reveal themselves. I want any spirit to have the opportunity.

"I don't see who it is until I look at the pictures afterwards.

"This time as soon as I looked at the photo, I instantly thought it looked just like John and George.

"I looked at it another three or four times thinking, 'It is them, isn't it?' It's always good to doubt and question yourself.

"It is a gorgeous photo. I think the faces are so clear. I have no idea why they would chose to appear. I have no connection to them, apart from being a big fan, but there they are.

"If there is an afterlife, I'm sure John and George are doing exactly what they did best in this life – making music and inspiring others."

Is there anybody there: How spirits use the phone and other household gadgets to get in touch

Instrumental transcommunication, or ITC, is claimed to be a way of communicating with spirits via common electronic gadgets.

Devices commonly used include radios, televisions, computer hard drives, fax machines, telephones, tape recorders and cameras.

Spiritualists believe departed loved ones are able to send messages that appear in sound recordings, sometimes in the form of words that suddenly appear out of background noise.

At other times it is claimed spirits cause an image to form on a television screen or in the memory of a digital camera.

The name ITC was coined by German researcher Ernst Senkowski in the 1970s.

In 1995, the parapsychologist David Fontana proposed in an article that poltergeists could haunt tape recorders.

Sceptics say there are rational explanations for ghostly sounds and images, such as damaged cassette tape, interference and recording errors.

Psychologists say a phenomenon called pareidolia, in which the brain interprets random information as a familiar pattern, is behind some claims of spirit contact, while other examples are believed to be hoaxes.

Christine says she is comforted by the thought of spirits contacting the living world after the deaths of her father and sister, and has worked to develop her abilities.

She added: "It's not the first time I've been visited by celebrities. I also have pictures of Princess Diana and Michael Jackson but it is rare.

"Most of the spirits that come through are just everyday people and then I'll get the odd pet. I have a lovely photo of a little dog. Sometimes you do get some really weird things.

"I don't expect everyone to believe that I can capture pictures of spirits. I don't do it to try to prove it to people, I do it to prove it to myself."

Christine has previously claimed Alton Towers is haunted and probably cursed.

In 2015 she took a snap in Leicester Cathedral that she believes shows the ghost of King Richard III soon after he was reburied there after archaeologists dug him up from a car park.

She also claims to have photographed the ghosts of the Princes in the Tower, the two young royals allegedly murdered by Richard in 1483 so he could take the throne.
