Harvey Weinstein prosecutors consider new charges against disgraced media mogul after ‘more victims come forward

DISGRACED movie mogul Harvey Weinstein may face new charges as more accusers are coming forward.
After making an appearance in a Manhattan courtroom today, Assistant District Attorney Nicole Blumberg informed Judge Curtis Farber they may seek a new criminal indictment with additional charges against Weinstein.
Prosecutors detailed that more women have come forward with claims of sexual assault and misconduct against Weinstein, saying some potential survivors were not ready to step forward during his first trial.
"People who couldn't speak out in 2020 are now willing to speak out in 2024," she told the court.
Now, prosecutors are assessing which of these may fall under the statute of limitations, and which he can be charged with.
Blumberg told the court that she and her team would be able to provide a more in-depth update of the case at the end of June.
The retrial on the rape charge is currently scheduled for after Labor Day.
Weinstein's attorney Arthur Aidala objected to the court's use of the term "survivor" while speaking about new accusers.
Aidala instead requested that prosecutors use the term "complaining witness" to describe new accusers.
