Donald Trump breaks decades of US policy after declaring he is open to one-state solution to Israel-Palestine conflict
Trump toyed with the idea of a one-state solution while hosting Israel PM Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House

DONALD Trump yesterday broke with decades of US policy to say he could accept a one-state Israel-Palestine solution.
The US has previously called two states the only answer in the peace bid.
But Mr Trump, hosting Israel PM Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House, said: “I’m looking at a two-state and one-state.
"I thought for a while the two looked like it may be the easier of the two but I could live with either if Israel and the Palestinians are happy.”
By toying with the idea of a one-state solution Trump has issued a break from the policies of Barack Obama, George W Bush and Bill Clinton who tried to push for the creation of two separate states.
The policy would see Israel as the only state where Palestinians could be forced to become citizens.
He also blasted US spies for leaks that saw his security chief quit over Russia ties.
He tweeted: “The real scandal is that classified information is illegally given out by ‘intelligence’ like candy.”
