Britain’s brightest students at University of Cambridge told how to use STAIRS in health and safety posters
BRITAIN’S brightest students are being told how to use stairs in health and safety posters.
They warn University of Cambridge undergraduates not to use mobile phones while moving between floors.
The posters show a picture of a man with a phone in his hand lying at the bottom of a flight of stairs.
The text reads: “Heads up, phones down! Don’t be the next accident. Thank you for not using your phone.”
There is even a QR code that links to a website where students can report an “accident or near miss”.
Bemused student Gennaro Dello Ioio said: “Why would anybody report a ‘near miss’ episode of staircase use?

“‘Hi, I just saw this guy who was using his phone while going down the stairs, he tripped, and almost fell’.
"Will the university immediately send its police to arrest him?”
And one student, who asked not to be identified, said: “Utter woke gibberish.
"Why are they treating the cleverest young people in the UK like blithering idiots?”

The university said: “Some may find them amusing but they were put up following a number of accidents, and near misses, where people were using phones as they descended stairs.
“The university takes the health and safety of its staff and students seriously.”
