Who is Dean Kelly? Gang member jailed for helping Sean Mercer hide the Rhys Jones murder weapon

THE murder of schoolboy Rhys Jones shocked the country back in 2007.
Dean Kelly was jailed in 2009 for helping the 11-year-old's killer Sean Mercer to hide the murder weapon.
Who is Dean Kelly?
Dean ‘The Belly’ Kelly, best friend of Sean Mercer, the teenager who shot Rhys Jones in a car park as he left football practice.
So close were Sean and Dean that they were referred to as The Boys in MSN chat rooms by their gang, the Croxeth Crew.
Dean, then 17, already had a reputation, as Kelly often joined Mercer in terrorising staff and guards who worked Croxteth Sports Centre.
Kelly was still the subject of a three-year anti social behaviour order on the day of the murder, and illegally possessed a shotgun, though it was James Yates who supplied the murder weapon.
When questioned by police, Mercer used the fake alibi that he was at Kelly’s house watching a DVD about rapper 50 Cent.
