Simon Danczuk resigns from Labour party with blistering letter attacking Jeremy Corbyn and John McDonnell for celebrating Marx and Stalin
The former Rochdale MP hit out after the party refused to re-select him for his former seat
FORMER MP Simon Danczuk has quit the Labour Party after they banned him from standing for re-election in Rochdale.
The shamed politician was prevented from running again after he was suspended from the party for sending sex texts to a teenager.
Labour’s ruling National Executive Committee unanimously decided to bar Mr Danczuk from re-standing for his Lancashire seat – which he has held since winning it from the Lib Dems in 2010.
In a scathing letter to Labour chief Iain McNicol this afternoon, he lashed out at his party for "no longer [being] the positive political movement that I joined nearly 30 years ago."
He slammed John McDonnell for "continually obsessing about Karl Marx, the benefits of communism and celebrating the reign of Joseph Stalin".
And he attacked them for thinking they could "parachute a Corbyn supporting candidate" into his old seat - labelling the move as "deplorable".
He was suspended from the Labour party in 2015 after The Sun revealed he sent explicit messages to a 17-year-old girl who had asked him for a job in his constituency office.
And in a double blow for the Danczuks his ex-wife Karen failed in her bid to become Labour MP for Bury North.
She was hoping to be selected for the vacant seat to stand in next month’s General Election and said she wanted to become an MP to help victims of sexual abuse after her brother was jailed last year for raping her as a child.

Mr Danczuk - who was hoping to marry his new girlfriend Charlene in Parliament's chapel later this year if he was re-elected, tweeted a snap of his membership card snapped in two.
He said that he hoped the party would "see sense and return to a more moderate form of social democracy" in the future.
But in tweets sent earlier today, the former MP hinted that he would be running as an independent candidate instead.
He sent out snaps of him visiting businesses in Rochdalem, and re-tweeted a message from another Twitter user saying they hoped he would still run.
And he accused the party of having "totally lost touch with its social democratic values and, indeed, with reality in 21st Century Britain."
But Jeremy Corbyn's former spokesperson Matt Zarb-Cousin hit back, saying it was "embarrassing he wasn't kicked out months ago".
