Hollywood star Greice Santo launches website for victims of disgraced Harvey Weinstein to come forward and report their abuse
HOLLYWOOD model and actress Greice Santo has launched a website for victims of Harvey Weinstein to report abuse and harassment - in the hope it will land the shamed movie producer in jail.
She is hoping the "I Met Harvey" website will give victims a platform to share their stories and says: "It's time that women stand together and say no more - Hollywood has to change."
It comes after dozens of women have come forward to claim they were sexually harassed or abused by movie producer Weinstein.
The allegations by actresses including Gwyneth Paltrow, Angelina Jolie and Kate Beckinsale have rocked Hollywood and Weinstein now faces multiple investigations by law enforcement agencies including NYPD and Scotland Yard.
Jane The Virgin star Greice says the abuse and harassment of women is “rampant” in the industry.
She says she had an encounter with Weinstein years ago but declined to go into detail saying “this website is not about me but other victims”.
Called the website, which went live on Tuesday, encourages women who have had encounters with Weinstein - or other predatory men - to come forward and share their story.
Greice, who starred in Wild Card alongside Jason Statham, plans to share all the information she gets with law enforcement - and also publish - with permission from the victims - the stories she receives.
Under the headlines "Tell your story", the website states: "In recent weeks strong women around the world have summoned the strength to expose SEX PREDATOR HARVEY WEINSTEIN and the despicable acts he was committing against them.
“Although a lot of people in Hollywood knew he was a sex predator many around the world did not. Now the world knows.
“But we need to do more, we want to make sure every woman who was affected by this vile predator has a platform to speak out and obtain justice.
It adds: “We want to hear your stories about Harvey Weinstein and other predatory men who have been using their positions of power and influence to sexually abuse and harass women.
“This site is dedicated to all the other victims of Harvey Weinstein, who were afraid to tell what happened years ago - or maybe even just weeks ago - but NOW, can tell their story knowing that it will not go unheard and will be shared to give others courage around the globe and to put HARVEY WEINSTEIN in jail where he belongs.
“This unspeakable behavior towards women has to stop!!!”
The website then states that all stories "once verified and vetted will be sent to law enforcement".
Greice told Sun Online: "I decided to set up this site to give women around the world, that have suffered at the hands of these predators, a voice, a therapeutic way of getting out and talking about what happened to them. On their terms.
“But more importantly, to out these predators and bring them to justice.
“It's important because women have been sexualized and taken advantage of since the beginning of time.
“We need to show that we are mad as hell and we’re not going to take it anymore.
“I met Harvey years ago when I first came to this country from Brazil. With stars in my eyes of what could be.
“I won't go into too much detail because this site is about other victims not just my experiences but as an actress and model in this industry, this kind of abuse happens more than you could ever imagine.”
Greice said that the problem of sexual harassment and abuse was universal - and affected men as well as women.
The actress, originally from Brazil, who also runs an initiative called Glam With Greice which gives out makeovers in .
She said it's important that everyone stands stand up to bullies and abusers everywhere.
“This happens not only to women but to young men with stars in their eyes as well," Greice said.
“These predators use the dreams and aspirations of young performers and artists against them.
“And this predatorial behavior happens in every workplace not just the entertainment business.
“Every office in every business around the globe has predators that women and men have to deal with everyday.
“I have talked to many women and men who have suffered at the hands of these unscrupulous predators from all different types of workplaces.
“Hopefully, this site will encourage victims from every workplace to tell their stories.”
