Grenfell Tower survivors and relatives to sue three US firms blamed for tragedy

GRENFELL Tower survivors and victims’ relatives are to sue three US firms blamed for the horror blaze.
More than 50 are mounting a big-money class action in America where the law is tougher on firms linked to tragedies.
Papers must be lodged by June 14 — the second anniversary of the 72- death inferno — owing to a two-year limitation on legal action in America.
UK law firms will fight the “product liability” lawsuit which will name appliances maker Whirlpool, cladding firm Arconic and insulation company Celotex.
A source said: “Because of America’s compensation culture there’s a feeling payouts could run into millions.
“It’s also being done in the US as the firms are based there and are liable for their products.”

He said: “These firms caused so much pain and sorrow through a chain reaction. If we hurt them financially they may face their moral responsibilities.”
