Watt was all that about?
Jermaine Wattimena exchanged terse words with Stephen Bunting after losing in the Belgian Open, writes ARTHUR FERRIDGE.
Bunting came back from 3-0 down to beat Wattimena before exiting to Ross Smith in the last eight.
“You have known me for many years now and I am not that sort of player to play mind games on people.
“[Wattimena] was telling me that I was doing something wrong.
“I have a lot of respect for Jermaine and I didn’t expect that at the end of the game.
“I tried my best to win the game. I thought it was just a normal game but he picked up on something.
“I don’t know what it was, but I will have a word with him backstage.”
How they got there…
Luke Littler’s definitely been the top player of the tournament so far.
And that’s hardly a surprise.
But Mike de Decker has had invaluable, high-pressure time at the oche today – with tight wins over Gerwyn Price and Ross Smith.
Meanwhile, the Nuke has been consistent all the way today – averaging 100-plus.
Littler to rival AJ
Matchroom chief Eddie Hearn believes that Littler is on the same path to greatness as Anthony Joshua.
Hearn, who promoted AJ throughout his career, says Littler is on course to become one of the UK's biggest sporting stars.
Hearn told SunSport: "I think right now Luke Litter is probably the most instantly recognisable face in sport in the UK.
"I mean, there isn't anyone that doesn't know who Luke Litter is or what he's doing right now."
It's not all glam
Despite Littler already being a millionaire and world champion at just 18, darts players endure a lot of travel on a hectic schedule.
There will be no rest for the two-time Belgian Open champ - today he will be flying back to the UK and heading straight to Leicester for Players Championship tournaments on Tuesday and Wednesday.
He will then take part in the Premier League on Nottingham on Thursday night.
There's then another two Players Championship tournaments in Germany on March 17 and 18, a Premier League night in Cardiff on the 20th and the European Darts Trophy back in Germany on March 21.
That's before another Premier League darts night in Newcastle on March 27.
Here's how the rest of March is looking for the players:
More from Littler
As well as getting soaked and hailing the Belgian fans, Littler was clearly delighted with his performance in Wieze.
He added: "I think on my throw I was really good but Mike on his throw he was good at times.
"But I had to get in the lead and hit the winning double.
"I said after the World Championships if I don’t win anything throughout the whole year then I’m still a World Champion.
"But I’m obviously happy to win the UK Open and come back here and do it back-to-back.
"Now it’s ProTours and back to the Premier League."
For Richer for pourer
Luke Littler got soaked on stage after making it FOURTEEN successive wins in ten days as he retained the Belgian Darts Open, writes PHIL LANNING.
The teen sensation followed up his UK Open and Premier League victories over the past week by beating Mike De Decker 8-5 in the final last night.
Littler, 18, is also unbeaten in Wieze after eleven matches after taking the trophy on his debut a year ago. He picked up the £30,000 prize, making it £150,000 in a week.
But rival De Decker poured water over his head doing the trophy ceremony to leave Littler in stitches laughing.
He said: “I’m very happy to retain the title in front of these great fans.
“I said it last year there should be a Premier League here.
