4.00 Champion Hurdle
ITV saying over £5million traded on this race on the exchanges!
State Man into 8/1 from 10/1 late on!
The cheer from the crowd already.
Arriving at the start
The race of the week is just moments away as the runners all arrive well to post.
- The defending champion in the cheekpieces.
- The young mare who could be anything.
- The greatest hurdler of all time.
What's not to love!?
Paraded
The seven runners are being paraded in front of the packed grandstands.
The runners also looking relatively relaxed in doing so with all the money in the ring for Constitution Hill!
'Wouldn't swap for anything'
Nicky Henderson wrote in his blog: "The talking has all been done, as has the work and schooling, so it’s just up to him to go out there and show what we all know he can do.
"Everything has gone well since the Unibet Hurdle in January and he enjoyed an away day at Kempton a couple of weeks ago, which will have sharpened him up mentally and physically, and he was electric in a schooling session last week; he was breathtaking really!
"It’s hard to say he’s better than ever, but I do think he’s as good as we’ve had him and I really hope he can regain his crown having been forced to miss last year.
"Brighterdaysahead is a formidable mare, and receives a handy weight allowance, but I wouldn’t swap Constitution Hill for anything."
Wee dig?
Gigginstown's Michael O'Leary with a little dig here? Who knows but he was asked about opting to come here and told ITV: "If you have a horse good enough for the Champion Hurdle, you go for the Champion Hurdle.
"It's a privilege and a pleasure to be in it.
Templegate tip!
CONSTITUTION HILL can regain his Champion Hurdle crown.
He looked back to his best at Kempton last time and can extend his perfect record to eight.
Brighterdaysahead is an improved model from the one that was second at last year’s Festival and can give him most to do with a 7lb allowance.
Uh oh
Paddy Power and Sky Bet have both super boosted Constitution Hill...
The good news is he's just arrived into the paddock looking a million dollars.

I say match-up...
It was suggested this would be the great Constitution Hill vs Brighterdaysahead.
And that was the big match we all wanted to see after Lossiemouth opted not to come.
But if it's because the defending champ, State Man worked better than her, surely he must be coming into this one in decent fettle?
He wears cheekpieces for the first time and Mullins just told ITV: "He worked very, very well in cheekpieces the other day. Don't tell anyone...."
Next up
It's the big one on day one - the Champion Hurdle!
What a match-up it promises to be.
Can't hide from it next year...
Spokesperson for William Hill, Lee Phelps, said: “Lossiemouth was sensational yet again in the Mares’ Hurdle.
!Punters will be disappointed that she didn’t run in the Champion Hurdle, but she could well do next year, and we make her a 6/1 shot to win that.”
Mullins reacts
Willie Mullins explains his decision to duck the Champion Hurdle for a comfortable Mares Hurdle success.
He told ITV: “She was very good.
“I worked her against State Man the other day and it wasn’t a Champion Hurdle bit of work.
“It’s disappointing for everyone and us but you look for somewhere you can get winners. We've done the right thing.”
3.20 Mares Hurdle
Well over the last under hands and heels with the rest under maximum pressure.
Lossiemouth is much, much too good for this race - as we expected - and powers up the hill to win the Mares Hurdle with ease!
