  • Littler savages Man Utd

Luke Littler savaged Manchester United after Bruno Fernandes was linked with a move away.

The world champion spoke to media after winning his sixth night of Premier League Darts in Sheffield.

The Nuke had already secured his place in next week's grand final at the O2 Arena, and was asked about his competition - Luke Humphries, Michael van Gerwen and Nathan Aspinal.

The topic then moved on to United following their Europa League final defeat the previous night.

First Littler was asked about rumours linking Fernandes with a move to Saudi Arabia after the darts star responded to the speculation on social media.

He wrote in response to the links: "Surely not."

Littler was asked what it would mean for United to lose their captain, and he said: "Shambles."

  • Littler on latest Prem win

Luke Littler was thrilled after setting a new Premier League points record last night.

The teenage sensation said: "I’m very happy to finish top of the table and break more records once again.

“The finishing wasn’t too bad tonight, so hopefully I can continue that at The O2 next week.

    “I’m ready for the semi-finals. It’s The O2 - I’ve been there before, I’ve won a semi-final before, but so has Gerwyn.

“I know it’s going to be an incredible night; it’s going to be a sell-out, and I’m really looking forward to it.”

  • Littler better than Man Utd

Luke Littler sent out a chilling warning to his rivals with a record SIXTH Premier League night win.

And that means he finishes the season with more points than his beloved Manchester United.

The darts world champion, 18, delivered a stunning 6-3 victory over Luke Humphries in the final in Sheffield last night.

Littler also finished top of the table, smashing his own Premier League points record with a final total of 45, five ahead of his previous best.

Incredibly, that is more than Chris Dobey, Rob Cross and Stephen Bunting managed combined this year.

And his tally of 45 is six more than the 39 Ruben Amorim’s United have mustered during their dismal season.

Littler is now beyond United’s grasp as the Red Devils can only reach a maximum of 42 in the Premier League football – if they can beat Aston Villa on Sunday.

  • Good morning darts fans!

Record breaker Luke Littler showed he's the man to beat in next week's 02 finals night by wrapping up a sixth nightly win last night.

Littler beat Humphries 6-3 in the Sheffield final, registering another 170 checkout in the process.

He topped the table with a record 45 points and will face Gerwyn Price in the first semi final next Thursday.

Humphries will face Nathan Aspinall, who beat Michael van Gerwen in the first quarter final last week to book his spot in the top four at the Dutchman's expense.

Luke Littler has been handed three Guinness World Record crowns.

As a result of his success despite his tender years, he has broken a number of Guinness World records.

He had been handed his certificates for becoming the youngest winner of the PDC World Darts Championship.

Littler was also handed a certificate for the highest average in a debut match at the tournament.

His third one was for becoming the youngest winner of a World Darts Championship match.

  • Van Gerwen 'hurt'

Michael van Gerwen says not playing at his full potential and missing out on the 02 'hurts' but says he's far from finished yet and believes he'll get back to his best.

He said: “I still love the game, I still like what I do. Of course it hurts, it always hurts.

“I’m a winner, not a loser, and when you’re not performing to your capability then of course you need to be hurt, otherwise that’s not a good sign.

“You need to make sure you believe in yourself, and that’s why I’m still doing it.

“Of course, we all know I can play a lot better, but it’s a thin line. Darts is a really thin line between playing great and playing poorly.”

“When I was coming up in the PDC and knocked Phil Taylor off his No.1 spot and he was two or three in the world, people wouldn’t say that about him.

“The sport never stands still for anyone, whoever you are. Not Phil Taylor, not Michael van Gerwen, no one. So, you need to make sure you keep performing.

“I’m still young, I’m only 36 years old and still have, in my opinion, a long career ahead of me.”

  • Warm-up for next week's final

Wayne Mardle can't see anything other than a Littler vs Humphries final next week.

Wrapping up the final night of the league phase, he told Sky Sports: "I believe that these games, every time they play, it is a big game.

"Because there will come a time when one of them gets one up on the other and maybe a little run of four, five, six wins.

"Tell me it doesn't matter then! Because it does.

"There is a big one around the corner every time they play.

"I do see Luke and Luke reaching the final."

  • Asp delight

Nathan Aspinall admitted being emotional and revealing the 'pride' in himself after securing a top four spot.

He was under pressure to beat Michael van Gerwen earlier in the night and came through that test to set up a semi against Luke Humphries at the 02 next week.

He said: “I’m so proud of myself - I knew I had to turn up tonight and get the result and I've done that.

“People wrote me off at the start of the season but the PDC and Sky Sports know what I can do.

“It was my aim to get to The O2, and now I can look ahead to next week.

“A lot of emotion as soon as I walked off the stage. I had to take myself away on my own for a minute.

“I knew I was pretty much 80 per cent of the way there. But I’ve spoken so highly of Michael, I know he could have won tonight. I don’t know what’s going on, but he didn’t look himself. Even on the stage he was giving up.

“But I thought I put in a fantastic performance in under that pressure. I’m just so proud of myself. It’s been a very stressful six weeks."

  • He finishes

Littler was asked if the win over Humphries tonight sets a marker down for next week.

He said: "In the Premier League there is always points up for grabs.

"There is always the £10,000 bonus so we are always going to be playing for something.

"For myself, it is probably just a warm-up."

  • He continues

On facing bogey player, Gerwyn Price, Littler added: "It is darts.

"I am very ready. I am ready for the semi-final.

"It is the O2. I have been there before, I have won a semi-final there before but so has Gerwyn.

"I am looking forward to it."

  • Littler reacts

The world and Premier League champion told Sky Sports:

"It has been tough. It is a tough format but I have got myself through.

"I am very happy to be top again and breaking all these records once again.

"Last year, I won the first semi-final then I went on to pick up the trophy.

"That is all I am thinking about this year is heading to the O2 and putting in a performance in that semi-final."

  • How the table finished

Luke Littler tops the final Premier League table with a REC0RD-BREAKING 45 POINTS.

Comfortably the top player in this competition and wins beats Humphries by 11 points in the end.

  • Luke Littler 5-2 Luke Humphries

    BIG FISH FROM LITTLER!

He reels it in with his celebration and the crowd have gone absolutely wild. It's just a different game for them isn't it?

  • Luke Littler 4-2 Luke Humphries

    ABSURD!!! RIDICULOUS!!!

Humphries is so in control of the leg to get a break back and leaves 62, thinking he'll be back.

Why wouldn't he? Littler is on 155.

T20, T19. Finished off with D19 for an outstanding finish!

  • Luke Littler 3-2 Luke Humphries

    Littler breaks!

He's back in front, even when missing D15 for a 101 checkout by floating into the D10 bed.

Superb stuff - top quality stuff. But only JUST.

Humphries on 120 hits T20 before going D20, D20 to bust himself in a real brain freeze moment!

Littler can't punish him so what does Humphries do? Comes back for 20 - T20 - D20 to take out the 120 before the pair share a laugh once again. Incredible!

  • Luke Littler 2-1 Luke Humphries

Humphries holds and it's a good one to do so!

17 - D20 finish from Humphries sees him get on the board.

  • Luke Littler 2-0 Luke Humphries

Two-nil already as Littler holds to back-up that break of throw.
