US Army Ranger set to run at the Curragh
O'Brien finished second at Epsom with US Army Ranger and he looks likely to renew his rivalry with Dermot Weld's Harzand
AIDAN O'BRIEN will fire FOUR darts at the Irish Derby in an attempt to defeat Epsom hero Harzand.
US Army Ranger, Idaho, Shogun and Port Douglas are all on course for the Curragh.
O'Brien said: "The horses have come out of Epsom well. We are looking at US Army Ranger and Idaho and probably Shogun and Port Douglas.
"Deauville will not run. We felt in the Dante at York that in the last half-furlong he didn't quite get home and it looked like he didn't stay at Epsom, so at this stage we are looking at bringing him back to 10 furlongs for the Eclipse."
Paul Hensey, manager of the Curragh, is expecting a mixed bag on the weather front of the next few days but is anticipating an improvement in conditions ahead of the weekend.
He said: "We had 14.6 millimetres of rain yesterday, it was persistent rain all day. The ground is currently yielding on the straight course and good to yielding on the round course.
"The forecast is a bit mixed up until Thursday, but it should pick up after that and temperatures are due to rise."
