Is Slack down? Thousands of users say messages won’t send as site crashes worldwide

OFFICE messenger Slack has crashed, leaving staffers across the globe without a means to communicate, according to reports.
Thousands of users across 16 countries, including the UK and the US, have been locked out of the platform.
Is Slack down?
On October 6, 2023, more than 10,000 Slack users have reported difficulties with the app and website this morning to DownDetector.
Half of users reported issues with the server connection, while more than a third cannot send messages.
Reports poured in around 9:50am BST.
Instead of signing on as usual, the platform's users were met with this message: "Sorry! Something went wrong, but we're looking into it."

Technical difficulties have been reported in all 16 countries Slack operates in.
While it has left many offices and business owners frustrated, many say it's given them that 'Friday feeling'.
"[Is Slack] Down for everyone or just me? Because when your entire business runs on Slack this is quite disconcerting," one user wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
Another wrote: "Needed to go on Twitter to verify that Slack is down.

How did Slack respond to the errors?
Slack has acknowledged that the platform has been experiencing issues this morning.
The company wrote on its sever status site: "Some customers are encountering various errors in Slack.
"We're actively looking into this, and we'll report back as more information becomes available."
