Destiny 2 downtime updates — 25-hour server outage begins ahead of Final Shape launch as weapons & subclass revealed

Destiny 2 is being hit with 25 hours of downtime ahead of the launch of the much-awaited Final Shape expansion.

Bungie's beloved FPS is nearing the end of its lifecycle, with many believing today's update will be the final expansion before the developer moves on to other things.

Destiny 2: The Final Shape brings with it a whole new story, a new class, and new weapons, offering the biggest expansion the game has seen yet.

It went down starting at 5pm BST (12pm ET) on Monday, 3rd June 2024.

Developers say it should be back online today at 6pm BST/1pm EST/10am PDT with scheduled maintenance to conclude two hours later.

  • Maintenance concluded

    All maintenance on Destiny 2 should be concluded and gamers should be able to play the new update with no issues.

    Those who are struggling to access the new update should report the issue to the .

  • Downtime over

    Destiny 2 downtime has concluded and gamers should be able to log into the new update and resume playing.

    Players logging in now may be placed in a queue and will have to log in again as background maintenance is expected to continue for another two hours.

    Gamers should log out and log back in for the update to finish downloading if they're struggling to access Destiny 2.

  • Maintenance to continue until 6 pm BST

    Downtime is expected to continue for another 17 hours.

    Players should be able to access the new update at the following times:

    Prismatic is the first new class edition since the Strand, introduced during with the Witch Queen.

    This will allow Destiny experts to develop some seriously unique builds.
