IT'S important to keep your TV up-to-date to ensure you have all the latest and greatest channels available.
Freeview successor Freely added eight new channels in January - and there were a small number of reports that they didn't land on everyone's TV at the time, according to .
Freely, the hybrid Freeview successor, allows people to watch a growing number of Freeview and Freesat channels on their smart TVs through broadband.
The latest batch of channels included True Crime, True Crime Xtra, Legend, and Legend Xtra.
Other channels were PBS America, GB News, QVC, and QVC 2.
So what do you do if your Freely box is missing channels or other features?

Updates should land on your device automatically given that Freely already relies on an internet connection.
But if you think something may have gone wrong and want to manually check for an update you can.
Follow these steps:
- Go to Settings on your TV
- Look for Software Update

"Make sure your TV stays on until the update is over," Freely says.
To rescan your channels, follow these steps:
- Go to Settings
- Select Channel or similar
- Select Auto Scan and follow the on-screen instructions
If that doesn't work, watchers could restart their TV by turning it off and unplugging it.
Viewers should wait five minutes and plug the TV back in.
Freely has become a popular and free alternative to Sky's Glass and Stream internet TV services.
It was launched in 2024 and beams live channels into homes via Wi-Fi instead of the traditional aerial.
The service is built into new TVs and works as a hybrid model, meaning it can switch between Wi-Fi and aerial.

Freely already has the main broadcasters - BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5 - on it's streaming options.
