Will Apple replace your old iPhone battery and which models are affected?
The tech giant has promised to 'regain the trust' of customers after admitting to deliberately slowing down older iPhones

APPLE has apologised for deliberately slowing down older iPhone models.
Here's what the tech giant said, whether your phone is affected and how Apple are promising to "regain the trust" of customers.
Why did Apple issue an apology?
Apple apologised on December 28 after admitting that it deliberately slows down the performance of some older iPhone models.
Promising to "recognise the loyalty" of customers after the practice was revealed, the tech giant has slashed prices of out-of-warranty battery replacements for the handsets affected.
They have also pledged to release an iOS software update in 2018 which will allow users to check on their overall iPhone battery health.
The firm, which has faced legal action over the issue, said it wants to "regain the trust" of anyone who may have doubted its intentions.
Apple users believed older iPhones were slowed down to encourage customers to upgrade.
The firm admitted the practice earlier in December, but claimed that downgrading performance when batteries are old, cold or low charge would prolong the device's overall life.
In a lengthy blog post addressing the backlash, Apple said: "We know that some of you feel Apple has let you down. We apologise.
"There’s been a lot of misunderstanding about this issue, so we would like to clarify and let you know about some changes we’re making."
They insisted: "We have never – and would never – do anything to intentionally shorten the life of any Apple product, or degrade the user experience to drive customer upgrades."
