YOUR selfies are set for a major upgrade, thanks to a new phone case that doubles as a camera drone.

The Selfly smartphone cases fits on select iPhone and Android devices, and detaches to work as a remote-control flier.

The zany gadget looks like a normal phone case at first glance.

But unclip the chassis from the back, fold out the wings and voilà – a proper palm-sized drone.

The drone can be controlled using a smartphone app, beaming live footage to your device as you fly it around.

It also shoots video in high-quality Full HD resolution, and takes stunning aerial selfies to boot.

The Selfly selfie drone lasts around four minutes on a single charge, and boasts a flying range of around 45 feet.

You can use virtual joysticks to control its movement, or a point-and-fly method that lets you tap the screen to set a destination.

Selfly's creator AEE is selling the finished version for a hefty sum of $130 – that's around £96.

There's also an optional separate charging hub that you can pick up for $30 if you don't want to rely on batteries.

The drone case is expected to ship to customers this spring, although there's no exact launch date just yet.
