THE X Factor has produced many stars whose performances are brought to mind with just one name.

Among those is one of its earliest, Rowetta, who appeared in the very first series back in 2004.

The soul singer, who had already tasted fame with the Happy Mondays in the 90s, impressed Simon Cowell and co with her rendition of Lady Marmalade.

Fast forward two decades and the star - whose full name is Rowetta Satchell - is still going strong.

Now 57, the singer looked different to the last time we saw her on The X Factor.

However, the performer - once described by Cowell as "amazing but barking bloody mad" - has a style that's as vibrant as ever.

She was seen in one post in a tartan miniskirt and leopardprint thigh-high boots on her way to an Indie Reunion event.

Wearing a T-shirt that read "The ravers united will never be defeated" she told fans she was "on my way".

Rowetta's performances on The X Factor earned her glowing reviews and she ended up finishing fourth.

She made it to the quarter-final and was the last woman in the competition, never having had to compete in the show's sing-off.
