Coronation Street fans open-mouthed as character quits cobbles in explosive love triangle twist

One Weatherfield resident was told: "She gets off on the drama of it all, being the centre of attention."

CORONATION Street fans have been left open-mouthed after a character quit the cobbles in an explosive love triangle twist.

Recent weeks have seen Daisy Midgeley grow close to Ryan Connor despite being engaged to Daniel Osbourne.

In tonight's episode, a suspicious Daniel followed Ryan to a hotel where he had booked a room for him and Daisy to have some alone time together.

But as one love triangle continued to play out, another also reared its head elsewhere in Weatherfield.

Aadi Alahan has been desperately trying to keep girlfriend Courtney Vance happy after she left her husband for him following their affair.

But Courtney has been far from impressed by their dingy flat and in recent episodes, seemed distracted and emotional.

Tonight, Aadi told her he'd got the job at Freshco's stacking shelves.

An emotional Courtney - played by Stephanie Davis - told him he'd be "running the place by Christmas" before pulling him in for a hug.

She added: "I'm not joking you know, you can move mountains if you put your mind to it, because you lead from the front."

Aadi then asked her if she would be around for afternoon tea at the flat later with Asha and Nina, but Courtney said she had something to do first.

But when Nina turned up, Courtney was no where to be seen, while Asha was stuck at work.

The pair decided to start on the sweet treats when there was a knock at the door, and Aadi got a shock to find Courtney's husband Darren on his doorstep.

Marching inside, he told Aadi: "I've come for her things, we've had a talk and we're going to give things another go."

As he started putting her clothes in a bin bag, Aadi said it was "a pathetic attempt to cause trouble", but Darren told him: "She's already gone, whatever you think this is with Courtney, this is just a diversion for her.

"She was fed up with me so she fancied spicing things up a bit, she was bored, you were there.

"She gets off on the drama of it all, being the centre of attention."

When Aadi attempted to call her, Darren said: "I bet she's blocked you already", and sure enough, the phone rang once then went to voicemail.

Adding salt to the wound, Darren added: "She sent me round to get her stuff as she doesn't want to talk to you, you're done, face it. Chalk it up to experience lad, and move on."

Corrie fans took to social media to discuss Courtney's sudden exit, with one writing: "Poor Aadi. I hope this isn't the end of Courtney on the Streets. Liked her fiesty character."

Another added: "Aadi cradling our Courtney’s yellow jumper in honour of Steph’s Over The Rainbow colour we love consistency."

A third tweeted: "I hope this is the end of the Aadi and Courtney storyline."
