Princess Beatrice’s fiancé is sending his two-year old son for etiquette lessons ahead of marrying the royal
WHAT do you do when your son’s soon-to-be stepmum is a princess? Get him urgent royal etiquette training, of course.
When Princess Beatrice marries Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi next year, a youngster will enter the family too.
Edoardo has a son called Christopher with glamorous ex-fiancée Dara Huang. Bea is already believed to be close to the two-year-old, whose nickname is Wolfie.

And despite being an innocent toddler, I’ve learned he has been having etiquette training in preparation for entering the world’s most formal family.
The lessons are being conducted by Myka Meier, a well-known etiquette trainer who is close friends with American architect Dara. Helpfully, she also happens to be Wolfie’s godmother.
Myka lives in New York with her Swiss husband but is certainly the woman for such a job, having been trained in etiquette by a former staff member of the Queen.
She is the founder of Beaumont Etiquette and The Plaza Hotel Finishing Program and next year publishes debut book Modern Etiquette Made Easy.

Myka, who says she brings “a fresh and relatable perspective to modern manners”, flew to London last week to start working with Wolfie and catch up with Dara.
A source close to the family told me the decision was made to train the youngster “so he knows how to act in the presence of the Royal Family”.
Dara posted a picture of Myka on Instagram talking to Wolfie, with the caption: “God mums give the best advice. Thank you.”
It’s all part of the very modern approach to this coupling, with Harvard University graduate Dara heartily embracing her ex-partner’s decision to marry Beatrice.

She reacted positively to the engagement news, releasing a statement that said: “I wish the best for Edo and Beatrice and look forward to uniting our families.”
Dara dated property developer Edoardo, believed to be worth millions, for three years and the relationship ended just weeks before he got together with Beatrice.
But they have remarkably kept their break-up entirely amicable and Dara is now based in London to make sharing custody of Wolfie straightforward.
Which is all fine and dandy . . . but can I just say that any form of etiquette training for a two-year-old is utterly ridiculous.

O LORD! NO MEAT FOR ME
DOWNTON Abbey’s feisty cook Mrs Patmore loves preparing meat feasts for Lord Grantham upstairs.
But the actress who plays her has become a vegan and has only recently started to cook.
Lesley Nicol was inspired by working with rescue animals headed for a slaughterhouse.
She said: “For many years I just went, ‘No I cannot cook’.
“But I have had a shift in life. People have been asking me about this for ten years. My life has changed because I am involved in animal welfare, which came to me after Downton.
“I had an experience at a farm sanctuary outside Los Angeles, where I met rescue animals which would have gone to a slaughterhouse.
“Suddenly I needed to start talking about this. I cannot stand up for them then eat them. So I do not do meat any more.
“I went and got vegan cooking classes, which I love. It is so much fun. If I didn’t do it, I wouldn’t eat.
“Suddenly I have a situation where my husband is a cook and he is not a vegan – so what am I going to do? I had a moment where I was sitting with a pig and thought, ‘I cannot go home and eat them – that is just stupid’. So I am a learning vegan.”
I hope they’re not planning on using real animals in the kitchen when filming starts on the anticipated sequel to the Downton movie, which has become a box-office smash.

IT’S an outrage that the undisputed queen of festive pop Mariah Carey has yet to land the coveted Christmas No1 single.
It’s perfect timing as Mariah marks the 25th anniversary of her 1994 holiday album Merry Christmas with a new edition featuring previously unreleased recordings and new material.
She also has a new version out of the iconic video for All I Want For Christmas Is You, featuring unseen footage from the original shoot in 1993.

And have you ever wondered why Mariah is not singing the lyrics to the song in the famous music video?
Unbelievably, it’s because she filmed it before recording the song.
The new special release also features her 1994 festive performance at The Cathedral of St. John The Divine in New York, which raised more than £530,000 to benefit low-income communities in the city. Mariah kicked off Christmas yesterday with a hilarious video posted on her social media.

The clip showed Mariah falling asleep at 11.59pm on Halloween in the Eighties rocker outfit she wore to Heidi Klum’s bash, only to be woken up at midnight, wearing festive pajamas, by a phone call from Santa.
Mariah, who in a cute touch set the twinkly opening notes of All I Want For Christmas Is You as her ringtone, declares, “It’s time” before screaming with joy.
I’d love her to end up Christmas No1 a quarter of a century on.
