GAVIN and Stacey’s Larry Lamb insists there WILL be more episodes after the "cruel" Christmas cliffhanger.
The hit BBC comedy returned for a festive special last year after a decade off-screen and was the most watched programme on Christmas Day.
The special ended on a major cliffhanger, with Nessa (Ruth Jones) proposing to Smithy (James Corden) but cut to the credits before he could give an answer.
The move has left fans desperate for more new episodes to find out what happens next and now Larry, 72, has said it's a case of "when, not if".
Larry, who plays Mick Shipman, told OK! Magazine: "I think it would be pretty cruel to leave us on that cliffhanger.
"After the response it got at Christmas, you can more or less be certain that, sooner or later, there will be more.
"I’m sure the BBC can persuade Ruth and James to write more, so it’s a question of when, not if."
Larry added that the main problem was the busy schedules of writers Ruth and James and the cast members.
He explained: "The problem is, logistically, it’s a bloody nightmare as so many people involved with it have very active careers.
"It’s virtually impossible for there to be a whole series, but I imagine there will be another special.

"I’ve always thought a logical thing to do would be a Gavin And Stacey movie, but that’s just my idea."
His comments come a day after his on-screen wife - Alison Steadman - said she would "run back to Cardiff" to be part of the show again.
Speaking to the Radio Times, the 73-year-old said: "I don't take any notice of rumours, but there's no way I wouldn't do it. I'd run to Cardiff to be involved."
