Larry Lamb, 73, urges James Corden to write more Gavin and Stacey before he dies
LARRY Lamb has urged James Cordon to film more episodes of Gavin & Stacey before he's "dead".
The 73-year-old admitted he felt it was "highly unlikely" there wouldn't be any more episodes of the show, written by Cordon and Ruth Jones, but wanted to get the script through sooner rather than later.
Larry appeared as character Mick Shipman in the one-off Christmas special last year, which had a positive reaction from fans.
He shared his hopes to continue in the role, urging for writers James and Ruth to hurry up with new episodes before it's too late for him.
Larry told the : "After how well the Christmas special went down last year, it's highly unlikely there won't be more."
The actor added that he was "ready" and waiting for the script - joking that if it came too late, they'd have to start the episode at his "grave".
He explained: "I just hope they knock another one out before I'm dead. That or they can start at the graveside."
Former EastEnders actor Larry admitted he's been thinking about his mortality since turning 65, now feeling every day is "precious".
"I realised I have a big life, it's just behind me, and I don't know how much of a life I have in front," he added. "Every day gets more precious."
During the coronavirus pandemic, Larry spent the year living in Normany, France, alone - and enjoyed spending time along "appreciating" life.
While he wasn't suffering from loneliness has spent time "thinking", the radio presenter admitted he was worried about Covid-19.
"I'm still worried about Covid," he concluded. "You become particularly wary when you're vulnerable. I'm very lucky."

While Gavin & Stacey hasn't returned for another Christmas special this year, the BBC did confirm it would be back "one day".
Last year's Christmas special was a ratings boon for the BBC, after a massive 11.6million viewers watched it live.
