Britney Spears reveals frantic fight for life after she ‘almost drowned in six-foot waves’ in Hawaii
BRITNEY SPEARS has revealed she almost met a terrifying end this month after going swimming in the sea.
The superstar was on holiday in Hawaii when she got dragged under water by “six-foot waves” which had her frantically fighting for life.
She said: “I went out and I thought it was like a wave pool, and I was like, ‘This is so nice and refreshing and just beautiful.’
“But the thing I didn’t think about is when you come back, the waves really come in hard.
“I got sucked under for like five minutes. I almost drowned. And I’m like, ‘Where is my security? They’re just going to let me die here’.
“And then I came in again and another wave took me under.”
With her long-awaited ninth album Glory released this Friday, Britney said the one bit of advice she would give her younger self would be to avoid both her 55-hour first marriage to childhood friend Jason Alexander and her three-year romance with second husband KEVIN FEDERLINE.
She said: “Never get married, number one. That’s probably the best advice I could give myself.”
Britney is one of the biggest-selling artists of all time. Glory is 12 tracks long and features her amazing new single, Make Me . . . featuring rapper G-EAZY.
But don’t expect any other collaborations, as she claims most other singers’ egos make it too difficult to work together.
In an interview with SCOTT MILLS — which you can hear on his Radio 1 show from 1pm to 4pm today — she said: “A lot of the people in the entertainment business, if you try to work with them or set up projects, a lot of times people just don’t show up.
“A lot of people are divas in this industry. It’s hard.”
But one person she does respect is JUSTIN BIEBER — even though she had no idea who he was when they were introduced six years ago when he was a teenager.
She said: “He walked into my hotel room and he was like a kid. Literally he looked like he was 13 years old but he was 16.
“And I was like, ‘Who is this kid in my hotel?’
“And my sister was like, ‘This is Justin Bieber and his mother’. And I was like, ‘Oh my God, I cannot believe this’. He’s very unassuming. He’s a very, very nice, kind boy.”
Britney is now the bookies’ favourite to headline the 2017 Super Bowl half-time show, after I revealed that ADELE had turned it down.
She said: “Yes. I would probably do that. I would have to have a little support group, another artist of course. I don’t think you would ever do the Super Bowl alone. That would be kind of scary.”
If she does it, it will be an incredible way to celebrate her illustrious career on the 20th anniversary of her album deal with Jive Records in 1997.
Britney is the ultimate pop star and after almost three years of her Las Vegas residency, she would be bound to put on a show that no one could forget.

The Late Late Show host was invited on stage to duet with COLDPLAY’s CHRIS MARTIN during a concert in LA on Sunday.
Even singing with the likes of ADELE, ONE DIRECTION and JUSTIN BIEBER could not have prepared him for the 95,000-strong crowd at Hollywood Rose Bowl.
The comic, who turned 38 the next day, belted out SINEAD O’CONNOR hit Nothing Compares 2 U to honour PRINCE’s lyrics, before he was handed a cake.
What a celebration.

But now the star’s bank balance truly reflects her standing in Tinsel Town after being named the highest-paid actress in the world for the second year running.
The Oscar winner’s success put her ahead of MELISSA MCCARTHY and SCARLETT JOHANSSON, who ranked in second and third place on Forbes annual list of top earners.
J-Law’s massive £35 million earnings over the past 12 months will include her fee for lucrative franchise blockbusters The Hunger Games and this year’s X-Men Apocalypse, as well as a hefty sum as an ambassador for designer brand Dior.
The drinks are most certainly on her.

But Lily filled their shoes – and her stylish dress – perfectly at at the brand’s store in London’s Regent Street.
Among the other guests at the posh bash were Doctor Who’s JENNA COLEMAN and Lily’s fellow Downton star LAURA CARMICHAEL.
If the perfume smells as good as Lily looks, she’ll be selling it by the barrel.
