ACTRESS Emily Blunt has introduced the U.S. to cooking show The Great British Bake Off - kind of.

The star, who is currently promoting her latest thriller flick The Girl on the Train, starred in a one off sketch on comedy show Saturday Night Live.

Kate McKinnon, who has recently become a household name thanks to her turn in the new Ghostbusters movie, took on the role of Mary Berry, alongside a Paul Hollywood not-so-lookalike for the standout show.

Complete with their very own Mel and Sue, the sketch featured Emily alongside Cecily Strong as friends who were only on the show because they couldn't get on Big Brother.

The northern-sounding duo, who hail from "the only town that voted unanimously for Brexit", were the first pair the baking show had ever allowed, and were up against staunchly middle-class competitors in the bake off.

Wearing fishnet stockings, gold hoop earrings, a bomber jacket and a sideways ponytail, gobby Emily chews on gum as she faces critiques from the judges.

When the group are given the opportunity to show the judges their bakes, the pair resort to dirty tactics and punched one of their opponents cake in a bid to get the upper hand.

Promising to "bring the drama" to the cooking show, the couple explain they met when they got their stomachs pumped at a hospital.

They then announced: "We bake just as well as we s**g, quick and lazy!"

Upon discovering that there was no prize money to be won and their efforts to create "the worst cake to ever appear on Bake Off" had been for nothing, the couple take off with Mary Berry in tow for a night on the tiles.
