JOHN Legend performed a hilarious tribute to Gordon Ramsay’s favourite sayings on Friday’s episode of The Nightly Show.

The skit joked about John releasing an album dedicated to the famous chef and saw the Oscar winning performer sing some of Gordon’s famous expletive ridden rants.

Sitting at his piano, John sang: “How the f**k did you burn the ice cream.”

He also sang the lyrics: “There's more Olive Oil on this than Popeye's d**k.”

Gordon later joined John at the piano before the cover of the album popped up on the screen

During his appearance, John revealed his wife Chrissy Teigen was jealous she couldn't be there as she is a huge fan of Gordon's.

The Hell's Kitchen star admitted his wife Tana had come along to the recording especially, just because John was there.

As well as performing his skit, John took part in a blind taste test with Gordon which he passed with flying colours.

Gordon lived up to expectations when it came to his love of foul language in his debut episode.

It was noted he used the F-word 16 times in half an hour, with 300,000 viewers eventually switching off.

The 50-year-old was also hit by a technical glitch which kept him off air for three minutes on Monday.

While on camera, he targeted rival chef Jamie Oliver with a string of jibes — calling him a “fat f***”.

Gordon, who also used other blue language, claimed Oliver was trying to solve the UK’s obesity problem by eating all the junk food himself.

During a taste test competition he joked that the loser “gets a table at Jamie’s Italian”.

And on childhood obesity, he said “hit the chubby little f***ers with the stick”.

There was also a volley of swearing ­during a prank where Ramsay pretended he had cut his hand in a blender.

The 10pm episode began with 1.5million viewers but fell below 1.2million by the end. The Nightly Show, whose previous hosts include David Walliams and John Bishop, has had poor reviews and low ratings since its launch.

However on Friday night viewers of the show were praising Gordon's fun style.

One fan tweeted: “Congratulations to Gordon Ramsay for a fantastic week of ITV The Nightly Show.”

Another wrote: “I was not bothered about the nightly show before this week but well done. I would love to see a Gordon Ramsay chat show.”
