Gavin Rossdale slams The Voice and claims X Factor is much better at looking after its acts after the show finishes

GAVIN Rossdale has admitted The Voice UK has more work to do when it comes to nurturing its contestants once the show finishes.
The Bush frontman, who served as a coach on The Voice UK last series, also claimed rival singing show X Factor is better at understanding and promoting its talent.
Speaking to , Gavin said: "What the X Factor does so well that [The Voice UK] don’t is they are a bit more prepared between the label and the show."
He added: “They seem to test them with a few songs and have a lot more ready to go with the artist. It just feels a little bit on The Voice like they are chasing their tails - all the while in the competition."
The 51-year-old also suggested that The Voice UK should "strike while the iron is hot" and capitalise on their winner's fame, rather than waiting an extended period to release a single.
He used last year's winner Mo Adeniran as an example, saying The Voice UK bosses should have been studying him throughout the series to decide what sort of songs would suit him, rather than "rushing" at the end to find a suitable winner's track.
The post-show success of The Voice UK and X Factor contestants have often been compared.
None of The Voice UK's previous winners have particularly set the charts alight, while X Factor has produced stars such as One Direction, Olly Murs, Alexandra Burke, JLS and Leona Lewis.
Last year's The Voice UK winner Mo is currently working on his debut album, while the 2016 X Factor winner Matt Terry is also at work in the studio.
X Factor judge Sharon Osbourne recently spoke out about why her show has produced more talent than The Voice UK, claiming its rival is a "gimmick" and talent can't be judged purely on voice.
She told the Radio Times: “The Voice is a gimmick with the twisty chairs. I love the judges and if I was asked to do it and didn’t have The X Factor, course I’d do it.
“But you cannot judge talent on voice alone because if Mick Jagger was up there nobody would turn around."
Sharon added: “It’s not just about the voice. They have all these toads up there and I’m sorry half of them are backing singers.
“That’s why no stars have come from the show.”
Louis Walsh agreed with his co-star, saying: “The panel on The Voice UK are good – I’m a big fan of Tom Jones, but The X Factor is a much better show.”
He joined the panel after the show moved from BBC One to ITV but bosses let him go after deciding he lacked the "charisma" they wanted.
One source told The Sun on Sunday: “Gavin was great to work with during the series, but the bosses just felt he wasn’t right in the end.
“He didn’t make much of an impact, and they want someone with serious spark and charisma.
“So they have taken the decision that he won’t be back next year."
Gavin later confirmed his departure from the show saying he understood the bosses' decision and was looking forward to spending more time with his children.
"It’s such a massive show and it’s great to be part of a juggernaut. I’m going to miss that side of it because that was a real laugh," he said.
“It was a great experience. I had an amazing time on the show I loved it, I love all the people on there. Especially Tom.
“It’s okay, it’s showbiz. I’m fully grown, I understand how it works."
Gavin has three sons - Kingston, Zuma and Apollo - with ex-wife Gwen Stefani.
