JOHN Torode has revealed his fiancée Lisa Faulkner forgot to say "yes" for THREE hours after he proposed.
The MasterChef judge, 53, popped the question to Lisa, 46, after five years together, but was left bemused when she failed to say one vital word that would seal the deal.
He appeared on Good Morning Britain today and told Susanna Reid and Kate Garraway: "She said yes which was so lovely.
"But in fact she didn't say yes for three and a half hours. She was so gobsmacked. I ended up saying to her, 'are you going to say yes?' and she gasped and said, 'have I not said yes?'
"The other thing was she was so frustrated we were in a different time zone so she couldn't tell anyone."
The couple are yet to finalise plans for their big day, with John adding: "Things are moving in the right direction but we are quite busy at the moment. We're filming Celeb MasterChef."
The celebrity chef surprised Lisa with a festive proposal and a large diamond flower-shaped ring and she took to Instagram to share their happy news with fans.
Lisa said: "My gorgeous John completely surprised me on Christmas Day and asked me to marry him!
"After waiting to tell our family when we got home we then had a few days just grinning at each other!!
"I'm so very happy to share our lovely news with you.
"Happy 2019 it’s going to be quite a year and I’m going to embrace every minute of it.
"All you need is love. Love is all you need."
Meanwhile, John took to his own Instagram account with a shorter but equally ecstatic message.
"And she said YES!!" he shared with a picture of Lisa next to a pool in a tropical location.
"Bloody love my Lisa.. Have put a ring on it."
The couple first met on Celebrity MasterChef and have been together since 2014.
She previously said: "Our relationship is as quiet and private as it can be when you both work in television.
“I’m really happy but we’re not living together because we’re taking things slowly. I believe life goes in ups and downs and at the moment it’s such a nice time.
“John was a judge on a show I loved and I was petrified of him. He was brilliant and gave us all tips so you didn’t want to let him down."
Lisa is famous for playing Fi Browning on EastEnders in 2017 and is also a celebrity chef.
John is an Australian celebrity who started work on This Morning before landing the MasterChef gig in 2005.
